Coursework from outside UF
Requirements and approval processes for transferring coursework from another institution.
CISE undergraduate students may transfer a maximum of four courses toward required Computer Science core or Computer Science elective requirements, provided the courses are approved by the department as equivalent to UF coursework. To be considered for equivalency credit, transfer students admitted to any CISE undergraduate program, including UF Online, must submit a Course Equivalency Request for applicable CS courses by the end of their first semester at UF.
Course equivalency request process
Request evaluation of non-UF coursework for equivalency to UF CISE courses.
Using the Course Equivalency Request form, students must submit complete documentation for the non-UF course, including the course description, syllabus, assignments, and instructor contact information, as well as the specific UF course for which equivalency is requested.
Please see UF CISE course syllabi to help identify equivalency.
The course equivalency request form and all supporting documentation must be submitted to the advising office (see emails below). Requests take a minimum of two weeks.
