Resources NOT available to master’s students
Research Assistants (RA) and Teaching Assistants (TA) are NOT provided to master’s students. They are only provided to Ph.D. students – no exceptions are made for this.
Work opportunities
CISE grader positions (also called peer mentors)
When and as needed, the department will hire graders for classes. To be considered when the application opens, you must have:
- Taken the course hiring for graders and passed with an A,
- Have an overall GPA of 3.7 or higher, with grades of all A’s and B’s in your CISE courses,
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and
- Completed at least one semester as a CISE master’s student.
Duties typically include grading assignments, exams, and proctoring exams. A grader is expected to work up to 10 hours a week.
The application for this position will be emailed to all students when available; it will not be sent individually. Do not email asking for the application.
CISE job interest application
The CISE department has developed an interest form for students to submit with their resume and areas of interest that professors can access when looking for potential new hires – no need to email asking for positions!
On-campus jobs
Students should only be applying for OPS and Student Assistant positions. Federal Work Study positions are only available to those who qualify.
