Critical tracking
Grade point averages (GPA)
CISE tracks several grade point averages (GPA) depending on a student’s major.
UF cumulative GPA (C-GPA) and upper division GPA (UD-GPA)
A minimum C-GPA and/or UD-GPA of 2.0 is required for all coursework attempted at UF. If a student drops below 2.0, then the student will be on academic probation.
- CPE majors must see a CPE academic advisor.
- CSC majors must see a CLAS academic advisor.
- CPS and DAS must see a CISE academic advisor.
Critical tracking GPA (CT-GPA)
A minimum combined CT-GPA of 2.5 is required for all Critical Tracking courses. If a student drops below 2.5, then the student will be on Critical Tracking Probation and must sign a probation contract.
- CPE majors must see a CPE academic advisor.
- CSC majors must see a CLAS academic advisor.
- CPS and DAS must see a CISE academic advisor.
Computer science courses GPA (CS-GPA)
A minimum CS-GPA of 2.0 is required for all computer science courses attempted at UF. If a student drops below 2.0, then the student will be on Departmental Probation and must sign a probation contract.
- CPE majors must see a CPE academic advisor.
- CPS and DAS must see a CISE academic advisor.
- Not applicable for CSC majors.
Innovation Academy petition to take fall classes on campus
This petition may only be used to request courses that are taught through the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. Math, physics, chemistry, statistics, and writing courses, as an example, are not engineering-owned; they are controlled by the College of Liberal Arts & Science and thus require a CLAS petition.
