Meshless methods raises an important geometric problem that is how to locate the integration points and their patches so that the numerical problem is simulated accurately. This paper formalizes the criteria to define a good point set for the meshless methods. A sphere packing based advancing front algorithm is suggested to provide a provably good solution for the formalized problem. Practical variations of the method is also discussed.
