Biography
I earned my Ph.D and M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2008 and 2004, respectively. My advisors were Patrick McDaniel and Tom La Porta. I earned my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Richmond in 2002, where I also minored in Biology and Business. My first academic position was at Georgia Tech. After receiving tenure and promotion, I moved to the Univesity of Florida as part of the UFRising Preeminence Hiring Program and co-founded the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity Research.
In my spare time, I am an avid runner. My other interests include scuba diving, playing golf, hiking, cycling and hanging out with Sheila and our two children whenever I can. It’s also safe to say that I’m a huge college sports fan and love to watch Penn State and Florida Gator football.
I have also been extremely fortunate and have traveled to many parts of the world. From Europe and Asia to Antarctica, I love seeing new places. You can count on me having my camera (and my running shoes) with me at almost all times.
