Projects
- Project 3 - revised updates the original (below) and is due 12/12/14.
- Project 3 - i-node allocation is due 12/12/14.
- Project 2 due date is pushed back to 11/07/14 since the exam was also delayed.
- Project 2 - CTSS Scheduling due 11/03/14.
- All projects will use the CISE Unix systems or Minix3 running on VMware for testing unless otherwise noted.
- All projects are individual unless otherwise noted.
- You are encouraged to discuss the projects with each other and to dig up resources on the web; however, DO give credit to the sources that helped you and DO NOT copy code directly from any source.
- Project 1 - Modified Kill due 9/19/14.
Homework Assignments
All assignments refer to Tanenbaum and Woodhull Operating System Design and Implementation 3/e unless otherwise specified.
Note that most of the question numbers are different from those in 2/e.
Homeworks will be completed by teams.
Teams will be assigned.
All students on each team should attempt to solve every problem on their own first.
Everyone on the team will receive the same grade.
Your grade will be determined by your preparation and presentation during discussion section with your team's answer to the problem(s) you are called upon to answer.
- HW 4 and 5 will not be collected or graded, only reviewed
- HW5: 5.{6,9,10,13,15,17,22,24,25,31} due 14.11.30
- HW4: 4.{2,3,4,5,6,9,11,12,14,17,18,19,20,24,28} due 14.11.07
- HWs 1-3 are not to be submitted on Sakai but your team must be prepared to present answers in discussion on the due date.

Notation: X.{y1, y2, ..., yn} means chapter X, problems y1, y2, ..., yn.
Submissions
If submission is not required, your team must be prepared to present your answers to homework questions at the start of the discussion class on the due date.
If submission is required, homeworks are due at the time specified on Sakai and will be submitted in PDF format on Sakai.
Late homeworks will not be accepted.
