0 ORIENTATION -and- Get your UF ID card, UF GatorLink account, and CISE computer account
Description: ORIENTATION will be Monday 20 June via Zoom, to accommodate all students, regardless of your visa status or issues. Attendance is mandatory (required). Zoom coordinates are, as follows:
After orientation, those of you who are in Gainesville FL will go to The Hub to obtain your UF ID card and student number, and your GatorLink account (if you do not have one already). Your GatorLink account should help you access CISE computer resources - and you will check this at that time.
Directions will be provided in the Orientation Zoom session, which will be recorded and posted to (a) our class Canvas site and (b) to our alternate website (for those who do not yet have Canvas access). Details will be provided via email, Canvas, and this website.
DEADLINE: For students who are already registered and in Gainesville or at UF, the post-orientation activities must be completed by 2pm EDT, Tuesday 21 June 2022.
1 Choose Your Project Group
Preparation: Communicate among yourselves re: what you want to do, and with whom. You can set up a Slack account for this purpose.
Description: Your group should consist of four (4) students, or five (5) if you want to do a Blockchain project (greater difficulty). See the Tentative List of Projects to determine which group size is appropriate for your area of interest.
TURN-IN: When you have decided on a group, please email the names of the
students in your group to the instructor at mssz@cise.ufl.edu.
DEADLINE: This must be completed by NOON Wednesday 22 June 2022.
2 Choose Your Group's Software Development Project
Preparation: Software projects will be discussed in-class on Wednesday of Week 1.
Description: Review the Tentative List of Projects to determine which project is appropriate for your group's area(s) of interest.
TURN-IN: When you have decided on a groupproject, please email the names of the
students in your group -and- the title of the project you have chosen to the instructor at mssz@cise.ufl.edu.
DEADLINE: This must be completed by 5pm EDT Thursday 23 June 2022.
