Mechanical keyboard Laptop

My lenovo yoga 730-13 once again had a broken keyboard, but since I already replaced it once, I decided to go further... I used PCBWay's sheet metal fabrication to create a new main enclosure. This enclosure was larger and designed to fit a low-profile mechanical keyboard. Since the enclosure is thicker I also added I/O to the laptop by Integrating a usbc hub right into the laptop. It is quite the dramatic redesign but I think it looks quite cool.

Ultrawide Handheld Gaming Console

I have found myself with another broken Lenovo yoga 730-13 to tear apart for a project. This time I wanted to build a steam deck clone of my own just with a trackpad instead of joysticks. After not being able to find a smaller screen that would work with the laptops eDP, I found one cut in half and it was perfect to build this Ultrawide DS monstrosity. I started by taking the laptop apart and testing my screen (very stressful, I had no idea if it was going to work). So I set off on reorganizing the laptop, folding the battery over to fit this new shape with an aluminum mid-plate and I had the enclosure 3d printed by PCBway in nylon. Note: The nylon has excellent thermal properties, but it was a bit more flexible the I was expecting, I would probably print in ABS or a stiffer plastic if I were to again. I then needed a new keyboard and a way to control my games so I designed a long PCB with a button matrix and a slot for an Arduino pro micro. Funny story, the Arduino is actually plugged in internally in the place of a fingerprint sensor (which turns out was using usb 2.0). And finally I put it all together and it came out pretty great in my opinion.

Ultrawide DS V2 + Graphics Booster Pack

As the proud owner of the worlds only Ultrawide DS Steam Deck that I built in the last video, I have decided it wasn't good enough. So I built a fully self contained portable external graphics card enclosure with removable battery power and a cnc milled heatsink. Follow along the journey as I build the gpu box from an ssd enclosure, hack a 3ds joystick for better controls and add an entire second touchscreen keyboard to the Ultrawide DS.
