Tamer Kahveci, Ph.D., professor and associate chair of academic affairs in the UF Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE), was recently appointed as editor in chief of IEEE Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (TCBB), a leading bimonthly journal published jointly by the IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS), and the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.
“I am deeply honored to serve as the editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics and am excited to advance cutting edge research in this rapidly evolving, interdisciplinary domain,” Kahveci said.
Kahveci was appointed by the TCBB Steering Committee based on the recommendation of the committee and with the consent of the IEEE Computer Society president and the chairs of the ACM Publications Board. His term will end in December 2027 with eligibility for reappointment for two additional years. During his term, Kahveci will also serve as a voting member of the Computer Society Transactions Operations Committee.
