Kevin Butler, Ph.D., an associate professor in the University of Florida Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering, received the 2017 International Educator of the Year Award from the UF International Center.
Butler, who is also part of the Florida Institute for Cybersecurity Research, received the award duringĀ International Education Week. Along with other daily activities, an award ceremony was held Nov. 13 to recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty and staff to the internationalization of UF.
Though the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering was eligible to nominate one senior and one junior faculty member, nominations for each award may be made by anyone on campus. A university-wide committee appointed by the dean of the UF International Center selected the winners for each of the awards. The award committee considers nominations, among other factors, in their selections.
