The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering selected Meera Sitharam, Ph.D., to receive a Doctoral Dissertation Advisor/Mentoring Award for the 2025–26 academic year.
Sitharam, a professor in the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering (CISE), was recognized for her excellence, innovation and effectiveness in doctoral dissertation advising.
She received her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on discrete and computational geometry, discrete modeling and algorithms and open-source mathematical software. She is the recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Award (2025–27) and is a fellow of the Institute for Computational and Experimental Research.
