DPS-3 Project - Format of Final Presentation

This presentation is to be given for fifteen (15) minutes, with viewgraphs. You may use either Microsoft PowerPoint (electronic format) for use with the video projector, or a LAT_EX template such as the seminar.sty style sheet.

The required slides are listed as follows:

1. Cover Overhead. (all items centered): Title (large font), Name (smaller font), CIS 4930 DPS-3 Project (smaller font), Date of Talk (smaller font).

2. Summary. There are three parts to this slide. Use only one overhead.
   Motivation: Why was this work necessary? What motivated you to do it?

   Problem: What probles were solved?

   Solution: What solutions did you provide?

3. Literature Search. Include information resources that you used, with several bibliographic citations.

4. Work Performed. Overhead outlining the work you performed. Specify any software tools that you created or used here.

5. Results. One or more viewgraphs outlining your results (use figures, tables, graphs, and performance statistics where appropriate).

   You should include high-level architecture diagrams or flowcharts of your hardware or software. Be prepared to explain and answer questions about the structure and function of each module in the flowchart.

   You should also include several screen shots of your demo, and you can link a video (preferably, a Windows .avi file) to your viewgraphs. You will have to be able to play the video on a CISE network machine, so check with the sysadmins to find out what formats are compatible with CISE Windows machines.

   You should not include any software code (except a short example to illustrate a point), header files, or datafiles (except short example to illustrate the format). Storyboards are acceptable, however.

   Do not expect the course supervisor to load your actual software onto the computer, as CISE machines may not support file permissions required to run your software. That is why an .avi file or other compatible format is requested.

6. Conclusions and Future Work.
   • What conclusions did you derive from this work?
   • What exactly did you learn? Include positive and negative results.
   • What would you do differently if given another opportunity?
   • What can be done to extend this work?

Grading Criteria. The Final Oral presentation will be graded as follows:

This grade will count as 15 percent of your final score.
